Thought that this part was done easily, and by hand as well. To do it by hand would be nearly impossible though, but a nylon string and a vice did the trick. Fitted one end of the spring on the kickstand, and placed the nylon loop in the other end, and pulled in order to stretch the spring, so that it could be attached to the tab at the console.
